Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.
Police then found multiple other vandalized cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Police say preliminary tests suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any harm in association with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
A senior political figure stated the vandalism left him without words and required to be addressed promptly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a assailant targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
