I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
